Hanging MIDI Notes

Hi All

I keep on getting hanging midi notes after the current update. It’s happening on a variety of AU synths, including Halion and Neo FM. The hanging note will usually stop itself after a few seconds ( especially if its a stacatto type voice ) but sustained voices will hang continuously. MIDI PANIC usually works, but not always.

I’ve tried a few different changes in Setup and in the Midi channel strip but I’ve got a feeling that its an update bug.

Anybody else had problems? I hope I’m missing something, its annoying😩

Same here. In micrologue arpeggiator too. All notes playing a few seconds after hitting stop button. Really annoying to build tracks with this bug…
Also the roomwork se reverb doesnt work as expected. No matter how long reverb time is set, the reverb stops short after taking fingers from the keyboard.
iCloud sync would be very nice too. I use cubasis 3 on iphone, ipad mini 6 and ipad pro 12,9 M2. @LSlowak :wink:

You are not alone, I have noticed this too but have not yet got round to reporting it, hitting the panic button does not always stop the rogue notes sound and I usually have to hunt for the blighter by tapping the mute button on each track.

I feel your pain. I’ve been reloading C a lot of the time. Tempting to temporarily freeze tracks but that just complicates things. Speaking of which, I’d like to see hidden track folders in a future update ( I believe Cubase has them ). Save a lot of scrolling through tracks, personally, I rarely if ever bother colour coding instruments.

I’m wondering if I should bother filling in an official bug report. I guess Lars will know about it soon enough, if not already.:crossed_fingers:

Yes if you stop a track while it’s playing in the middle of a midi note, the midi note wont stop,
Especially on the iconica sketch (iap) and in the sustain module.

It seems we’ve introduced a hanging notes issue with the release of Cubasis 3.7.

Please give it a try to disable “Return too Start Position on Stop” (located under “Setup/General”, and let me know if this resolves the problem.

The issue is planned to be fixed with the next update.

Thanks Lars, that works for me - wish I’d tried that when I went through some possible fixes😔
Can we expect a quick fix update I wonder - a pre update update!

I never use this function and I still get hanging notes when stopping mid song.

The method works occasionally but yeah there are still (randomly) hanging notes… less then with the setting on (if on, every note that hasnt ended at moment you stop the track hangs) yet still occuring.

Btw… i dont think the hanging notes happen on every instrument
So maybe we should list which instruments/iaps/etc are effected by this bug (?)

I’ve had a couple of occasions when the fix might not have worked , that was with a violin patch from Korg Gadget Marseille. However, I expect those sort of sustained voices to hang from time to time anyway. Perhaps I’ve just been lucky with my choice of Instruments.

Same problem for me with all the synths. It s unbearable to have to press panic every time. Disable return to start position fixes the problem but I like use it… ( android , galaxy tab s9)
