Hardware that makes Cubase Pro 12 work smooth and easy

Hi,
I plan to dedicate my still good working
Lenovo G50 / i7 5th Gen 2.4 Ghz / 16 GB DDR3 RAM / 512GB SSD HDD / Windows 10 Pro

Is it enough to start with working on Cubase Pro 12 ?
I know the minimum requirements, but is the above configuration enough to work with about 4 instruments in about 5 min. projects ?

Absolutely

Hi @Win_blows,

according to the Lenovo G50’s general specs: yes.

but what’s the screen resolution of your G50?
I’m asking since the G50’s screen resolution (resolutions started at as low as 1.366 x 768) might make serious editing in Cubase feel quite uncomfortable - depending on which exact model number and hardware revision your G50 has.

Anything less than 1920 x 1080 is not recommended für working with Cubase.
Steinberg’s specs name 1440 x 900 as the minimum for Cubase 12:

https://www.steinberg.net/en/system-requirements/

I’m still using an even older T530 that has 1600 x 900, and sometimes that’s simply not enough to edit anything comfortably.

Or had you already been using a Full HD external monitor anyway? [ the G50 Core i7 version’s integrated Intel HD 5500 series GPU would allow resolutions of up to 1920 x 1200 @60Hz (HDMI) or 2048 x 1536 @85Hz (VGA) ]

Regards,
Markus
