Has the issue been fixed in 15 yet: Control Room/Monitor/Insert FX/routing is missing?

And while Im at it…has a dedicated 2.1 channel output been made available in the latest…prob 10 years after being asked :-/
Sure Im hacking it with LRC but this isnt reaper…

I admire your stubborness to continue to be disappointed by Cubase. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

lol

I should have put smiley face on

Yeah I guess I should suffer in silence but they are real requests that unfortunately arent understood unless you are doing more complex stuff…doesnt mean you need to do that but if you can route IFX on a channel, it was a real frustration when you want to use 3 sets of speakers with 1 sub and room correction etc.

There was a whole rave about 2.1 and new users dumbfounded that it was missing…quite a while back now but CR is absolutely head and shoulders above whats out eg reaper, studio one, Live…but when you really push it…these missing features are…

Cheers Johnny

@Johnny_Moneto Are you on 14 or 15

Can you confirm if its now available?

I use C15. You would have to explain in plain words what exactly you’re inquiring about. I haven’t quite understood yet.

Would you mind explaining the issue? I’m having trouble understanding the thread title.

ok, you can see here that channels can have plugins

  1. With IFX (Insert FX) assigned (basics for new users)

  1. those can be assigned to mono/stereo etc and moved to a particular channel in a track by clicking the routing tab at bottom lhs of channel edit.
    BTW This also allows clean parallel processing within the track for eg Vocals which are recorded mono but are in a stereo track. Keep the Dry Channel on the left and apply mono fx on the right then sum them back with Mix6to2 plugin just before the post fader slot. Use a QC to adjust the R channel level in Mix6 plug

  1. Control Room has 4 monitor outs that also have, in the same way, IFX so that you can load eg xovers, room correction for diff monitor etc

  2. You can (hack) diff channel configs (to get 2.1) by using a multi channel out. This allows, in my case (LRS+Lfe) to use 3 monitor sets but with a single sub/tactile transducer setup across all 3. This keeps the sub region in exactly the same level at all times as its a support element…read the 60/30/10 article further down.

    Channel Config:

    LRS+Lfe
    LR = L&R
    S = Tactile
    Lfe = Sub

    This also means each monitor set needs a diff xover

    Mon A: Aurasphere/Perspectives = 80hz
    Mon B: Focals = 60hz
    Mon C: ATC = 50hz
    Mon D: Bluetooth speaker in mono, no sub but rarely used now

    This is all part of a 60/30/10 workflow (click to open the article), which is why I need 3 sets

Where is the routing editor for this? There is nothing (I have ever seen) in C12…has it been sorted in later versions?
Its a bit of a showstopper for me atm (finishing a studio refit/rebuild)
HTH

Can you access routing from the plugins instead? Like in the mixer?

No, the routing can only be accessed when in channel edit…there is no channel edit on the monitors that I can see.

Not “on the monitors”, I meant accessing it in the plugin itself. I was away from the computer but now I opened it up:

That drop down does not appear on mine (v12 as per tag)…oh more importantly what version are you on?

I think this is Nuendo exclusive.

I may have found a workaround using Element FX

BUT

Is the routing meant to be

Main Mix Out > CR Room Active (ABCD) inserts > Main Control Out

Thats what Im lead to believe, cant find any flow charts (again)

BUT

When I test by inserting multi channel fx on inserts and turning off eg S channel

This is reflected in the output level meters correctly

But the main isnt

Which tells me that the inserts are AFTER the main control section (which makes sense but contravenes available information)?

It’s the Main section inserts before the Monitor inserts.

Thanks @Johnny_Moneto for the confirmation…ChatGPT is so helpful…right???
So I am gathering…

  1. This is Nuendo Only
  2. No advance on this being implemented in Cubase

Thanks @Johnny_Moneto @MattiasNYC for the help.
