Have one flow connect or flow, so to speak, into another

I have added a flow onto the beginning of a piece. I would like the new one to flow into the existing one. In other words to have the two flows become one piece. Thank you.

There is no other way. As two different flows could have different instruments attributed to them, it makes the process of stitching together way more complicated that Split stem (which is available). So copy paste is the solution. Make sure both flows have the same instruments ticked in. Then It’s quite easy to do in galley view, if you select all in the second flow, copy, select the last barline of the first flow and paste. You might need to delete useless time signatures and key signatures.

That post is not specifically about playback. You can get one flow to play right into the next by setting Playback Options > Timing > Flows > Gap between flows to 0.

In terms of display, if you have “Allow on existing page” set, then you can go into Notation Options > Barlines and set “Automatic barline at end of flow” to “Normal barline”. Your new flow will still start on a new system, but it should look like it’s all one piece on the page. You may also need to adjust staff labels in the second flow.

But to actually combine two flows into a single flow, that post has what is currently the only approach.
