Having problems changing a quarter note rest to a dotted eighth note rest

I’m in measure 14 of my song. I can’t seem to get Dorico to change the quarter note rest to a dotted eighth note rest. I click note input, the rest symbol the dot symbol, and the 8th note symbol. What am I doing wrong? I attach a copy of my project. Thanks for your assistance–Ben

I don’t see a quarter note rest in bar 14.

Adding to that, the bar already has its 6 eigth-notes

Thanks for posting, TonH. I’d lke to delete the stray 16th note rest between the two E 16th notes, and change the eight note rest to a dotted 8th note rest. I can’t seem to get this done! Do you know the trick?

Set your rhythmic grid to 1/16ths.
Select the first 1/16th E. Alt-right to nudge it across.
Job done.
