I own Dorico Pro 6.x (includes Halion Sonic 7), Cubase Pro 15.x, and Absolute 7 (which includes Halion 7.5).
I was doing some Hard Drive housekeeping and noticed that within Halion 7.5 I’m seeing Halion 4 Factory Content, Halion Sonic 2 Combis, Halion Sonic 3 Combis, and Halion Sonic Factory Content. Is there any reason I shouldn’t remove / delete them via Library Manager? IOW, is there content stored within them that is worthwhile or that is somehow shared with and required by Halion 7.5?
Those are just the names of various libraries that come with Halion. While you can delete them, you’d loose that content by doing so.
Why do you think it might be beneficial to remove them? They don’t overlap the same content.
EDIT
Instead of looking at the Libraries in the Library Manager, open Halion and use its browser to take a look (& listen) at what’s in the different Libraries.
The benefit is recovering HD space if in fact they represented redundant content.
I have seen them in Halion 7.5 but the only reason I mentioned library manager is because it has the option of removing them.
My concern was, as you pointed out, that deleting them would remove content that is not available elsewhere in Halion 7.5 so you confirmed my suspicion and thank you for the info.

Just curious why Steinberg doesn’t consolidate them into something like “Halion Legacy” so as to keep things streamlined.
I always wondered if the content installed with v4 included what came with v3, plus some extra stuff.
So if you install (say) v4, does the installer also install the “v3 Content” along with the v4 content as a separate library?
Hi Guys,
Halion 4 Factory Content, Halion Sonic 2 Combis, Halion Sonic 3 Combis, and Halion Sonic Factory Content are all parts of HALion. To use all instruments and to be backwards compatible you need to have them installed.
