While trying to get my second set of monitors working correcting, I suddenly heard this loud, sudden crunching sound. I assume it came from the mains? The upshot is I can no sound out of Cubase (14). Nothing. I checked the mains on other sound files, and they’re fine. I turned off Bluetooth. I rebooted. I can load Cubase and the studio set up is all there and loads fine. What I haven’t yet done is uninstall and reinstall Cubase. Should I? What have I done to creats this situation?
So I just reinstalled my Cubase Pro 14. Still no sound, though it is registering on the meters. And I can play non-Cubase sound files (like MP3’s).
Now what? Everything else looks fine. Is it a hardware or software problem?
Is it just Cubase no sound. Are you getting sound from your computer?.. eg. You tube media player etc
It’s just Cubase sound. And it’s only when I activate the control room – which I’ve always used.
Hi,
TBH, I am having a hard time to follow you, maybe, that’s just me.
Do you use an audiointerface? Which one and how is it set up? ASIO driver?
Which OS are you on?
You can listen to other audio sources outside of Cubase on your system - so it’s just Cubase that doesn’t route the signal to your mains, right? Can you post a screenshot of your audio settings / Control Room, please? Also, you meantioned a second set of monitors?
A few screenshots and more info will surely help to narrow it down to a couple of usual suspects ![]()
I have a UR44. Yamaha Steinberg driver. For years I’ve used the control room and all has been fine.
Attached is my everyday setup.
Suddenly, today, the control room won’t load/doesn’t work. So I’m stuck with using Outputs rather than the control room. .
My main monitors are Kali’s. My second pair are iLoud’s. I was connecting them when I heard a “burst” of static – like when you unplug a cord from an amp without turning it down. I don’t know how much clearer I can explain. It would appear to be a software problem.
Thanks for the screenshots.
Can you go to the Outputs section of F4 Audio Connections and set the Outputs to “Not connected”, please?
Also, check if the Main section in Control Room is turned on. It’s the blue speakers in the top right, just click on them.
Maybe this setting has been migrated from an older Cubase version after reinstalling Cubase?
There you go, @Johnny_Moneto ![]()
