HELP! eLicenser error

Hi,

I’ve just launched Cubase 5 and got this error:

Application ‘LCC2’ has caused the following error:
DCOM connection to program ‘Synsopos.exe’ failed.
Error:Unspecified error

I am on Win7 32-bit.

What I already tried:

  • Checked the eLicenser in Device Manager, “device is working properly” by its report.
  • Downloaded and installed latest elicenser, restarted Windows.
  • Tried the dongle in three different USB ports
  • Set the exe of elicenser to “run as system administrator”

Nothing. Please help how to make it work again, I have to use Cubase now…

B.

Did you re-start the computer after removing the Dongle and before switching ports?

Ok, here is what the problem was: I changed something in the Comodo Firewall and it blocked Cubase.

Changed the option back and Cubase now runs. eLicenser does not tolerate firewalls, so always start with “firewall off” in a situation like this…

Hi I’m getting this same problem, tried all things suggested but nothing. Even turned off Windows Firewall. Any ideas?

If its is really like this then make a list of stuff you tested.
Test it once more and if it doesen’ t help make a ticket to steinbergsupport contact via mysteinberg.net.

Sure your dongle isn’t in a usb3 slot?

Thanks for your help. I did a complete virus scan and that fixed it. I think something was blocking the elicenser maybe connecting to the net?
