Can anyone help with suggestions for the best way to setup a particular piece. It’s a choral work for four parts, but each voice divides into two, so that at any time one, or the other, or both are singing.
Taking the Soprano part as an example: sometime I have one tutti Soprano line. Sometimes I have 2 Sops. Sometimes, only Soprano 2 is indicated, and sometimes only Soprano 1.
So, do I do it with 4 players and use divisi and ‘instrument changes’ for the labelling; or do I use 8 players and change the labelling for the tutti sections?
