Help! I can't change the displayed names of my instruments

The names displayed for my 4 instruments came originally from the imported MIDI data. Changing the names in the Setup->Players and Layouts panels produces no change to the values displayed in the score. For example, the name “Clarinet in Bb” came in via import, and I have reset it to “Clarinet” everywhere I can find. Still shows the original.

OK, a clarification: I got all the instruments’ names reset - but I want to have the clarinet be “Bb Clarinet”, not “Clarinet in Bb”, because this will be a C score.
If I add “Bb” on the beginning, I get “Bb Clarinet in Bb”! I just want “Bb Clarinet” to distinguish from “A Clarinet” or “Eb Clarinet”.

This is an option in Layout Options > Staves and Systems > Staff Labels. Look for Position of instrument pitch in full staff labels.
