Help in adding left/right bracket for noteheads

I’ve been studying by the limit of my mental capacity how to add single bracket to a notehead, and got to the point when I created a custom notehead but it doesn’t really work. Can I ask you to make a step by step tutorial how to get there rightly, please. I think it is not a big deal for someone who is familiar with creating things like this, but it is impossible for me at the moment. Many thanks, Gergely

I don’t think a custom notehead is necessary, you can create brackets in Write and Engrave Mode using the properties panel.
