Help needed. Major performance issues Since upgrading to C12

Hey Everyone, I’m in need of your help:

Using MacBook Pro 2016 (i7, 16GB) Big Sur 11.6.4 Cubase 12, around 50GB free on disk.

For the past few weeks I’m getting CPU usage spikes that make work impossible, even on old projects that used to work perfectly well. Trying to mix a song the same way I’ve been doing for ages and even with half the tracks frozen I can’t get it to playback. It started a few weeks a ago and became worse over time.

Haven’t installed any new plugins for months, working on the exact same setup and mixing chains I always have.

Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated as work is starting to pile up.

There is a big perfomance issue thread, Steinberg asked to let them know there: Cubase 12.0.20 performance issues - Cubase - Steinberg Forums

Also I would suggest to open a support ticket directly. They have a lot on their plate, but they usually write back after a couple of days.
