Help please- What to do?

I have just upgraded my computer to current year and standard.
I have issues moving software/program from old to new machine, so tried a fresh download on new computer.
Older Cubase 10 AI EL whatever, is now needing license mods due to Steinberg admin development etc.
I tried to download my original version (CB) to new machine. Success, but couldn’t activate - my serial # is already used (I own it), so I have activation fail on new machine.
My aim was to transfer the software, then update to a current version due to license changes with Steinberg.
How do I go forward?
I own the full version of CB 10.
I understand an update is due. But do I have to pay for a new full version or an upgrade from 10?

Hi and welcome to the forum,

For Cubase LE, AI, Elements, which is on the Soft-eLicenser, go through the Reactivation process.

For Cubase Pro, which sits on the USB-eLinceser, just plug the USB-eLicenser in and you are ready to go.

As the eLicenser server is going to be closed on May 2025, I would recommend you to update to the latest Cubase 14.

No success. I can’t access internet on the older lappy.
I’m stuck. I cannot open the downloaded version now because it won’t accept my license detail to activate - so how do I re-activate. I can’t find a link to do that.

Hi,

You don’t need the older computer at all.

Which applicatino exatly do you start? What kind of message exactly do you get?

Too much frustration for me.
I paid and upgraded to version 14.
However, the UR242 will not operate because I need to access the code. The UR is registered with the original CB10. Please help me fix this.

Hi,

The hardware is not registered to any software.

Why is it not operated? Do you get any message? Did you select the ASIO Driver in the Studio Setup?

As Martin say the hardware is not registered to anything.

Possibly your DSP FX are still registered to the elicenser though and need updating.

Here’s the software

And the info for upgrading to new licensing

Beginning ---- Bought the UR242 and it came with the effects add on as well as Cubase (10) AI LE. There were no issues. All software installed and operated properly. Recently I had a serious computer issue, so I updated it.
I went to the Steinberg site, to download new installation software, firmware etc. I read about the e-licence etc.
The access code and serial numbers from my original purchase are not being accepted when installing software on the new computer as they are already registered numbers. They’re MINE! I registered everything when I bought the program on my computer. I kept the codes etc. as advised in the package information. I still have them.
After several attempts of re-loading CB10LE, same with UR242, I keep getting the message that the product is already registered.
Complete frustration! So, then I purchased the update to CB14.
I cannot use the software because of licensing?
It states that the ur 242 is already registered.
So, what can I do?
This is crazy

Hi,

You cannot use the Activation Code again. You have to Reactivate your license from the old system, to the new one. Do this first. Then you can use your update/upgrade license too. What kind of update/upgrade exactly did you buy? An update from Cubase LE 10 to LE 14 is for free. So you had to upgrade to Elements, Artist or Pro. Is it correct?

In any case, first Reactivate your license to the new system.
