Help setting up M-Audio Air 49 with Cubase Elements 8

I have just got a M-Audio Axiom air 49 and need help getting it up and operating correctly with Cubase Elements 8.
All current drivers have been installed. M-Audio does not offer a Hypercontrol for Elements 8, even though it is a option within the device menu. I’m using Windows 7. I’m new to DAW so hooking up the controller is new, it is reading midi and sounds can be played, I would like the faders, knobs and pads to be assigned to the proper items inside cubase.

Any help would be awesome
Thx

To assign functions to knobs, pots and faders, you can use ‘generic remote’ inside Cubase.
It’s been a while since I used it and it can be a bit fiddly, but once you’ve figured it out it works great.
I suggest you find the section on generic remote in the manual and go from there.
