Help with custom instruments (string section in B)

Hello!

I’m trying to add custom instruments for string section in B. I have basically music where some of the instruments are tuned a half step lower than others and I would like to do this with transposing instruments.

It seems that the only way to achieve this at the moment is to edit the instruments.xml file.

If someone is familiar in how this is done, please let me know! I am trying to create a violin in B (natural), viola in B, cello in B and contrabass in B. Also needed is cembalo in B.

In Setup Mode, use the Transposition and Clef override feature to set the Transposition. Note it will have to be done for both the Score and the Parts.

I was thinking about this, but I would like to set it up in a way that shows everything in C when transposing score is off and everything transposed when transposing score is on. Does that method achieve that?

Yes, it does. Concert Pitch View will always show Concert Pitch.
