Hello! This might sound like the dumbest question you could ever ready, probably lol. But it’s driving me crazy and I’m sure it’s all about something I totally ignore.
I am trying to ‘delete’ the Halion channel, simply 'cause I don’t need it anymore. In a standard scenario, you would just right click on the bus channel and select the Delete button. This happens correctly with all bus channels, regardless whether I’m using Cubase 11 or cub 13 which I have just upgraded to. With Halion though I don’t have the delete button option.
It’s just something i’m not getting probably. When I load the cubase project, also, I get that error message you’ll see on the attached images. What I’m wondering is:
*how does something goes missing if this was supposed to be part of the cubase installation, if my memory serves right?
*Even if, what’s the best thing to reinstall it, if I really have to consider this as an option?
*Is there another quicker way to delete a Halion vst channel like I’m doing with all other VSTs?
I’ll try uploading as many (hopefull useful) screen grabs as possible to help you understanding.
Concerning HAlion Sonic, the way I do to activate/deactivate channels is the following :
In the Right Zone of the arrange (project) page, I select the VSTi panel.
I choose Halion sonic in the list
[right-click] > Activate Outputs
[click] on the involved channel(s)
EDIT : it seems that you have at least two instances of HAlion Sonic. Why so ? I would keep just one and activate/deactivate the needed channels from it.
Hello, thanks for getting back. I did so, sorry didn’t mention that on the start thread. However, while I confirm I can see the turn on/turn off button I don’t see an actual button to ‘delete’ it so that it disappears from the main working panel.
As soon as I untick an existing channel in the list, it disappears in both the arrange page and the MixConsole, on my end. No confirmation or Delete button needed…
Even though they all are off (god knows how the hell do I have 3 instances running) it still gets displayed in the arrangemente page as well as in the mixer.
As I was suggesting in the EDIT part of my first post, it’s because you have three instances of HAlion Sonic SE running : keep just one of them and set the channels in it as wanted.
Yeah I think I’ll need to save the audio stems I’m working on, then start up a clean new project where I’ll make sure to avoid using Halion or to just to open it once, if really needed, since I’m usually not really using it at all and still wondering how the heck have I opened it once resulting in this mess I did lol.
It is actually very simple. There is no need to reinstall anything. There is no need to start a new project.
Cubase has - for historic reasons - two ways of having a virtual instruments, such as Halion Sonic - in the project: Track and Rack. Rack instruments are the old way, Track instruments are newer.
Unfortunately you cannot delete Rack instruments from the track list - as you found out.
Delete them from the rack instead. Click on the name…
…and chose “No Instrument” from the pop up dialog.
And that’s exactly what I did state this to start with:
So, I did that and it solved the issue, now it’s no longer there. Appreciate the additional info/explanation though, and, above all, patience with showing me something that could probably be an easy thing for many… cheers!
