Hello! I’m starting to work with a Moog Muse and I don’t know how to configure the project tempo to synchronize with the Moog to make arpeggios or sequences.
On the Moog clock I select USB, in the new Project Synchronization / Destinations I select the Moog Muse, when I do this and I press play on the project, a melody starts, I don’t know where it comes from, it is played by the Moog in loop.
Anyone with more experience in the analog world who can help me?
It’s coming from the moog internal sequencer…you can turn it off:
Yes, that was it, thank you!
I only have to solve the following problem.
When I generate an arpeggio or sequence from the Moog, when recording it in Cubase as MIDI, what is recorded are the notes that generated the arpeggio, it’s not what I actually played on the synth for getting that result.
For example, if on the synth I play a chord with the notes D - F - A at the same time and generate an arpeggio as an effect, when I record it in cubase, the the result of this “Chord played” actually is the effect generated by the Moog Arpeggiator, so when I play the midi in cubase, and cubase send that midi notes to the moog, the result in not what I played.
The same thing happens to me with the sequences of various Moog Muse patches, what am I doing wrong?
Have seen people complaining about this in other forums…maybe they’ll make arp or keyboard out switchable with a firmware update but for now you’ll need to work around it.
Either turn off the arpeggiator after recording and let the Cubase recording play it or use another keyboard as midi controller (or draw in the required chords)
Got in touch with Moog support, and for now, this issue can be resolved by choosing to either receive or send midi in Ableton, setting up both at the same time cause this issue with the HOLD function. It’s a shame, but at least a workaround for now. Support told me a firmware update is being worked on to alleviate the issue.
I found it, it’s about Grandmother arp but same behaviour.
