Help with note performer drum set

Hello,

The other day while working in Dorico, my Kick drum in the drum set somehow started playing back as a voice. I’ve been trying to sort it out ever since.

I’m using Dorico 5.1.51 and NotePerformer 4.5.1

I tried switching to silence then back to NotePerformer Playback Template. No change.

Looking a little closer in Dorico’s play mode I noticed the drum set was routed to Channel 15. Opening up the individual percussion sounds in the drum set, I noticed all percussion instruments that made up the kit were routed to channel 15 except the kick drum. The kick drum was routed to channel 1. Channel 1 is a voice instrument, so that makes sense that the kick drum is making a voice sound. I tried switching the kick drum to channel 15 thinking this would solve the problem. On channel 15, the kick drum plays back as a floor tom. Maybe the Noteperformer percussion map has been messed up?? I haven’t messed around with any percussion mapping. I always have NP as my default playback and it seems to always route things automatically!

What I find really odd, is when I reset the Playback Template back to NotePerformer, the kick drum routing reverts back to Channel 1.

This does not happen on other projects…it is unique to my current project, so my guess is it’s an issue with a setting on the Dorico side, just not sure how I got there and how to set it back.

I’ve tried adding another drum set into the project, but that doesn’t help. The kick drum on the new drum set still has the same issue.

I’ve tried resetting all the percussion maps to default settings and same with any and all settings in NP. No luck!

Please help…Play mode, percussion maps and playing templates are a weak link for me. There may be an easy fix, but wondering if something in the project as gone awry.

Thanks in advance!

Could you attach the project itself here so we can take a look at it?

Daniel,

Thank you for your reply. The project is too big to attach to the forum apparently. I’ll send it to you directly via email.

Thank you,

J
