Help with popping/crackling sound on playback after getting new converters

I’m at a loss on how to eliminate these crackling/popping sounds on playback. I just got the Apogee Symphony I/O MKII converters after using the Lynx Aurora for over a decade.

I’m running a 2020 MacBook Pro with 2.3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, Ventura 13.5.1 OS. My Symphony has all the latest drivers/firmware.

If I play an audio file from the “finder” there are no issues; it only seems to be playback in Cubase.

When I change the buffer setting to the largest setting (2048) the popping/crackling lessens, but is still pretty bad.

Any thoughts on how to proceed? Thanks!

Cubase 12 Pro, version 12.0.7

Hi,

Do I understand you correctly it wasn’t the case with the old Audio Device? If this is the case, then the new Audio Device’s driver is probably faulty. Get in contact with the Audio Device’s manufacturer, please.
