help with processor update

I’m hoping someone out there might know more about processors than me.

I have an I7 motherboard with a 4 core 3.4 processor.

I would like to update to either a 4 core 4.0 or a 6 core 3.33.

These are the two choices that I can afford. My sole reason for the upgrade is for working in Nuendo. I have 32 gigs of memory.

Would anyone have a suggestion for which route to take? :question:

It might help to give us more info about the MoBo and set-up / peripherals,
OS and other progs that are supposed to be running on the crate alongside Nuendo.
AND don’t forget the specs of the Power Supply …
