I first tried to find previous posts on this, but I didn’t see the right one if it is there.
So….
Up to recently I had a staff spacing that worked and fit nicely on a page to allow for 2 “systems” (sets of staves) on a page. Unfortunately I added another instrument, which only allowed one “system” on a page. Fine, I said, but if that’s the case, I’m going to change the staff spacing to increase the white space between staffs. I did that manually and it worked okay. But then I made some change, and now my score has the manually changed spacings on earlier pages and (I guess) the older spacings on most of the later pages.
I want all of the pages to have the same “formatting”. I went into Layout Options, did a “Select all”, and set some spaces, but it did not apply them to the entire flow.
Here is your file. I reset all the spacing changes you made. Under layout options, page settings I decreased your top and bottom margins to .5 inches. I increased your rastral size from 3 to 4. But that sill only allowed one system on page 1, but there was some room. So I added a Frame Break at bar 1. Another frame break at bar 10. Went back to the first frame break at bar one and changed the property to “wait for next frame break”, and things turned out quite nicely. The last 2 pages have taller systems so there is only one system on each page.
No, I want one “system” per page, which will allow me to add much more space between staves. Like what I had in the first several pages of the file I sent.
Can you tell me how to reset mine> I tried in Layout (factory reset) but it didn’t reset.
Depends on what. I reset all the manual staff spacing, decreased the vertical justification to 50% to fill the pages under Layout Options→Vertical spacing, then increased the bottom music frame margin under Layout Options→Page setup to allow for more space at the bottom of the pages. I think the settings under Layout Options→Vertical spacing are what you might want to change. You could perhaps decrease the space for quarter notes under Layout Options→Note spacing to get fewer pages.
Another way of asking what I am after is this: Within “Engrave”, and “Staff Spacing”, how can I make a spacing change on one page and have it make the corresponding change on all pages?
So, I just made manual changes in the last page of this latest document. How do I go from what you provided to what I want using the commands of the program?
I am trying to use the “Copy Staff Spacing” by selecting an entire page, Copying it using that command, and then trying to apply it to the whole flow. But the other options under “Staff Spacing” don’t seem to provide a “Paste” or “Apply to all”. I just tried “Reset Layout”… and that just WORKED! Yay!
