What’s the best way to deal with the vertical collisions in page 6 of the attached file? We’ve got pedal markings below the piano staff and a lot of dynamic markings above the soprano staff.
I think my global page settings are generally working in the rest of the file, although maybe I could decrease the top whitespace a bit.
Hi @Jon_Arnold, here an example of a possible result just reducing the Page Margins and the Music Frame Margins, in Layout Options:
Another possibility is to reduce slightly the space size. You can do it globally In Layout Options/Page Setup, or locally, only for the affected frame: at the beginning of the affected page (frame) create a Frame Break and activate the space size override, setting it to 1,32, then in the next page (frame) create another Frame Break and reestablish the space size of 1,38 (this local space size difference is disliked by some people):

Yes, that is what Christian suggested, using the alternative wording space size:
I would also change the Vertical Justification Settings, to avoid the large white gap on page 7 and elsewhere. Use 100% for the second Justification value, instead of the default of 80%.
Also: since you’ve got plenty of space on page 8, the final page, you could just increase the Note Spacing across the whole piece, to fill the last page. This removes the alignment of the two very full systems on the same page.
Thanks all! I did some of @Christian_R’s suggestions about margins and both of @benwiggy’s suggestions. It did not occur to me that wider note spacing would help with a cramped page, but I guess it makes sense.
The page turns aren’t great, but that’s something I can tinker with.
