All ready, tonight first small gig with everything automated on vstlive 2.0.28! Sunday another gig this time medium/big stage … so tonight is more a general rehearsal at a bar garden in a small town … i’ll report after the gig ! Meanwhile, this morning, general stress test of the system… small video!! Ciao!!
Giga Cool
Good Luck.

Nice work man. The DMX thing I have yet to get into… I have absolutely NO CLUE about how to start. I got a pile of LED (DMX) lights but I just have them on Sound activation. The plan is to eventually get into programmed lights like you have here.
Back after the gig!!! Things went pretty smooth!
But it happened …. Soundcheck, lyrics were in sync, checked everything, then left vstlive open… had to add a global stack for background Music during dinner, no prob…. (Everyrhing was thru audio interface and direct out to main pa, no external mixer, everything mixed in vstlive!)
Then when we started, lyrics off sync!!! Damn!! Had to take 2 minutes after first two songs to close and reopen vstlive… no preload to shorten times, but after reopen all went perfectly till the end of the show!
I need to solve this lyrics random desync…. @Spork i’ll appreciate if you can find time to look thru my big project (i’ll upload it) to se if you can find the reason…
Only other small issue that might be improoved, global stacks need to remain active during song switch, singer was talking while i was pressing the footswitch to load and start next song and audio was always shutting down for 2 3 seconds, not nice…
Anyway, that’s the result (audio from smartphone recording, i have multitracks recordings and i’ll upload a version with audio from VST … but mixing with all plugins, glue compressor and maximizer on master…… sweeeet!! Ciao!!
Nice one guys, great setup. Nice job with the lighting.
Its so good when everything goes well, shame about the lyrics being out of sync, had this issue also and took the same action as you.
The software has come on loads since v1 so these little bugs are being ironed out for us, and the team at Steinberg are doing a great job with response to our reporting of problems and mostly with a quick version fix. So keep up the great work guys you sound great by the way.
Great job guys, thanks for sharing!
It certainly should, will check, sorry!
I even tought that this could be because i have recording tracks in each song routed to the global stacks for show recording so maybe the tracks was the cause for the silence while loading new song …
So i tried to erase all the recording traks from all the 25 songs today, then exported in media bay the heaviest songs to make a new project with empty songs and heavy loading time songs
… created new global stack, and tried to switch songs, with light or empty songs the stack sound seems contiuous witout interruptions. Good
but when i tried with heavy songs it stops audio from globals stacks even witout recording tracks…
So began to erase things in tracks… DMX tracks affects with the most loading time, like 2-3 seconds and audio from globals stacks is silenced. Removing DMX tracks make song transition like a fraction of a second and audio from global stacks barely glitches.
then I removed also video tracks, now trasition is smooth with audio from global stacks uninterrupted…
and i’m talking of remaining 30+ audio traks, signature, tempo, chords, lyrics tracks all present in the song. 1 long dmx track KILLS loading time, and also 3 to 5 video traks affects loading time in minor way… so it seems a major DMX loading issue freezing audio processing of global stacks…
Sunday i have another gig, this time with lights and audio service, we will not use our lights, so i “saved as” -NODMX and erased alldmx tracks, temporary fix for when we don’t have to use our lights.
Let me know if you need a couple of songs to test it!
ciao!
Just a short note that we are working on some of these issues, mainly massive amounts of DMX data.
Just for analytic info.
@ciro1983811 am I right, your DMX tracks are “hand-written”? I mean your DMX tracks aren’t recorded externally, right?
(While most my DMX tracks are “recorded from external source” and not hand-written-internally.)
Hi Felician, the version i sent to developers have been originally hand written, but then to condensate all into One single clip I recorded it using virtual dmx cable, then i deleted “record stop erroneous points”, and deleted original events.
Ciao!
… do you send something to me, @ciro1983811? PM or mail? I am really sorry, apparently I missed it. Just give me a hint where I should look for it.
Thank you,
Michael.
… and can you help me here? What’s the problem?
Thank you,
Michael.
@ciro1983811 cleaned up his proj after found, songs with dmx tracks are loading slow, and while VL is processing unloading current, loading next song , VL drops audio processing on their global STACKS.

Great, thanks for sharing!
I sent 35 Gb project to @musicullum !
Songs with dmx tracks and lot of Clips was loading slow , so i tried to condensate all’ in One single event in one track using virtual dmx cables. It records ok but at the end, when pressing stop or reaching end marker, there are spuroius points added alltogheter at clip end, so i deleted them. But also having One only track and single event, slow down loading 3-4 seconds between songs and freezes global stacks, including singer talking to public …
Yes you did, thanks a lot for that, and sorry for the confusion.
As mentioned elsewhere, we added some functions to reduce event data (DMX, most prominently), will check your project again to see how it applies.
