Hide aggregate time signatures

When I used the hide aggregate time signature function (‘[3+3+3+4+4]/8’ etc.) when I go back to edit it or copy the time signature it doesn’t copy the [3+3+3+4+4]/8 beaming and ties it only copies 17/8 and just uses the default beaming for 17/8. Is there anyway I can get it to read as 17/8 but beam as [3+3+3+4+4]/8 and still be able to copy and paste and edit it. When I double click on 17/8 it doesn’t show me [3+3+3+4+4]/8 it shows me 17/8.

Do you try and copy/paste the text in the Signpost/popover or do you try and copy/paste the actual Signpost?

O, nice ya copying the sign post fixes one of my problems but I still can’t edit the time signature and if it’s not a sign post (IE it’s not hidden) it doesn’t copy and paste in the correct way

Set the numerator style property to show beat group and you can edit it. Switch it off and you will get your 17/8 back again.

oo, Ok. That works. A bit tedious though.

How often are you going to be doing this?

But at least there’s a way! I had never thought to try this.

All the time. I use it to change the beaming as well as changing it to make it more playable.

It would be interesting to see some examples. Having to make adjustments like this is usually an indication that you have missed a setting that does it automatically!

The traditional beaming for things like 17/8, 9/8, 7/8, or 11/8 rarely work for my purposes. I would love to be able to adjust the beaming for 9/8 globally for a single project. Adjusting beaming in modern music is very common

Hi @aural_sandpaper ,

actually all the Meters (Time Signatures) that you use in one Flow (including their defined beat groups, that you can easily edit for one of them as @Janus explained) are saved in the Used in this Flow panel. You can reuse them whenever you need in the Flow. Here a visual guide:

OOO, but I can’t use the pop overs for that no?

unfortunately no: the Popover uses the one/s that are in the Common panel (and of course many others depending on your input), for what I can see.

But you can also select → alt+click to copy/paste existing ones (directly in the score) in other places (and the grouping will be maintained)
