Why is this so hard? Every instruction I can find is either wrong or refers to thiings like removing empty staves. How about removing ALL staves and leaving the notes hanging in “emptry” space. This use to be possible in both Sibelius and Finale. Is it now not possible?
Can we at least recognize that hiding staves should not be the priority of a music notation software? Granted, it’s not an easy task to do in Dorico (at least, it’s not really documented, unless you search the forum…). But, well, Dorico aims at making the life of those wanting to use a notation software to… notate music the best way possible as easy as possible.
What you probably want to do now is download the 0-line staff available in the forum and apply it to the different instruments that you have in your score. I suppose that should get you nearer where you want to go. Then please sent some screen capture of the problems you’re facing (or better, a dorico file) and you’ll probably get a perfect help in no time.
Got the .doriclib file!
However, completely at loss as to where that goes:-)
[And, yes, indeed hiding staves is hardly at the top of priorities for a notation app:-) I guess, part of the frustration is all the completely misleading and/or nowhere-leading answers da internet provides…]
Great advice, folks, thanks very much!
Got it all working like I needed now:-)

[I didn’t quite get the sense that I was blaming Steinberg for anything… Apologies if any giant musical conglomerate sensibilities have inadvertently been harshly trod upon by my comments about “da internet”.]
