Hide Bar Rests for an entire flow / single player

I am using the 0-line staff instrument for a Narrator part.
In the source that player shows no full bar rests and I would like to replicate it.
Is there a general way to do this, perhaps a property in the instrument definition, or should I select all of them and change opacity to 0% (or size to 1% etc …)?
Thanks!

I would just change the scale. You could also create a separate Layout specifically for that flow and hide bar rests via Layout Options.

Yes, but that would apply to all instruments.
I need something like “this instrument shows no bar rests”.

Apologies: I thought you meant it was just for a Layout with one player and several flows.

Could you not, as a final step in your overall note input process, simply select the whole narrator stave and remove rests?

You could put a note at the beginning of the 0-line staff, hide its stem and notehead, suppress its playback and activate ends voice immediately.

No damage done

In theory yes, but I believe the rests need to be there when the Narrator is not speaking.

I have done something like that in the bars that need to hide rests and, most of all, fermata: quarter note at start, deactivate playback, hide stem, notehead, and then remove rests for those bars.

Ah! You did not include that in the brief!

That’s because I am not yet sure whether that is the requirement! :innocent:
