Hide empty systems from flow 2 onwards

Dear friends,

I want to change the empty staves ONLY in the first flow, starting on page 2, and then apply this to ALL flows. When I set this in the layout options, all staves always appear on the first page of EVERY flow. How can I change this?

You need to insert frame breaks and use manual staff visibility, I think. Maybe set the option to all systems, and insert a Frame break at the start of Flow 1 that shows all, if I understood correctly.

In your case, the easiest approach might be to set Hide Empty Staves to All Systems, make an exception for the first system with a system break, and then reset things on the second system. It would imply only two system breaks with staff visibility change for the whole project.

Indeed.

I did not understand: How can I reset things on the second system and make visibly the empty staffs in the 1st two bars?

Assuming what you want is what we see in the first screenshot (am I right?):

In Layout Options, set the Staff Visibility to Hide Empty Staves > All Systems.

Then on bar 1, insert a system break. Select it and press Enter. In the dialog, set all the staves to Show.

Now insert a system break on the first bar of the second system. Select it, press Enter, and in the dialog, set all the staves to Reset

@charles_piano Actually you can just do a right-click>staff>manual staff visibility… at those two places. Dorico automatically adds the system breaks.

Thanks, I didn’t know, or I had forgotten!

Me neither.
