Since this is an indefinite low pitch, I need to hide the ledger lines.
When I switch to Engrave mode (and thus to Page view), check that the scope is Global, and then activate the “Hide ledger lines” property in the lower zone, things seem to work well:
Going back to Write mode to continue my writing surprises me because the ledger lines are still visible in there.
My guess is that, since I am editing the condensed music in Engrave mode, those properties do not propagate to the single instruments. Am I marginally close to understanding what may be going on?
That’s right, it’s something I also discovered recently: condensed notes behave independently from the uncondensed ones. They have their own set of properties, and things you adjust in the individual parts must often be re-applied to the condensed version, even if you do it in the score, where you’d expect them to be global.
There’s still room for improvement in this area, but the developers know that too. Every version gets better.
Ciao @MicheleGalvagno, it happens sometimes that properties set before condensing, or in Galley view, will not “propagate” to the condensed view (even if propagate is not the right terminology here). When this happens, you can change the property from the condensed view, selecting the note in Engrave mode.
