Hide percussion staves in a flow

Hi,

In a score I have 3 percussion players who play several instruments. In one block, the Conga’s aren’t used so I’d like to hide those staves in the block but not in the others. I just don’t know how to do this.

Are these percussion kits? I don’t think it’s possible then.

Thanks for your reply. No it’s not a percussion kit. all individual instruments played by a single player.

Could you show a small picture from the score/part? My last picture was without a kit. Do you have instrument-changes allowed? If you don’t have instrument-changes, set Hide empty staves under Library->Layout Options->Vertical Spacing->Staff Visibility or insert a Frame/System break and use Manual Staff Visibility by double-clicking the Break signpost: Then another one when you want them shown again.

As you can see, all three percussion players play several instruments. In block 3 I would like to hide only the conga staves

It’s probably not the best way to write percussions

Did you try what I suggested with a system break and manual staff visibillity? Then you might have to set that player to Masquer and do it with manual staff visibillity instead.

Yes I tried but I can hide complete per.2 player but not an individual instrument.

If you make a copy and set the Playback Template to Silence it might work.

Congas are acutually a kit, You can see by that it’s green.

Try using remove all instruments from kit, then delete the kit.

I’m afraid if I remove all instruments from the kit that will erase all music written… AH OK I get it with the Remove command. Good I’ll try this.

No, try this. It will create two separate congas with the music intact. The music will be moved from the kit to the separate congas.

Is it perc 2 from flow 2 you want to remove (not just the congas)?

Then you can simply remove that player from the flow. That’ll remove it from the score, and give a tacet in the part: Select the player in setup mode, and then unselect the flow.
