I know, there is a way to hide Rest Signs, if I use 2 or more Voices. However, I can’t figure out how.
I added screenshots, to show what I mean.
The easy way is select the passage (or the individual rests), and then “remove rests” in the Edit menu.
The more complicated way is to set the “starts voice” and “ends voice” properties for the first and last note in a passage, when you don’t want rests before or after the notes. If you have a voice that is only used occasionally, that can be easier than selecting a long passage and doing “remove rests”
Unfortunately this doesn’t work in percussion kits. I believe you need to either work in a single voice or put up with the extra rests, for now.
In the second example, I believe you can get rid of the rests by selecting all the notes in the up-stem voice and use Edit > Percussion > Change Voice > Extra Up-stem voice.
