Hide slash region in part (with cues) but show in score?

Is it possible to hide slash measures in a region of a part and instead in that region display a cue (so that player sees only the cue, not slashes) but have slash regions still shown on that player’s staff in the score (so that the score correctly indicates they’re improvising?)

I don’t see a way to do this and am hoping I’m missing something. I realize that as a workaround I could create an ossia staff and put the cue there, but that adds a whole separate staff and I’d prefer to have just one staff showing the cue with a text note saying “continue improvising”, because this looks much simpler and takes up less space.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Michael_Dessen, one way to obtain this would be to use duplicate players: one visible in the score, with the slash region/s, and one invisible (unchecked) in the score, to be used just to generate the layout without slashes an with the cues.

Thanks, Christian. That’s a good workaround, too, though it would be nice to have a simpler way to hide the slashes in the region.

There is a longstanding request to allow repeat regions (slash regions, bar repeats etc.) to have a different representation in the score from the parts.
