Hide tablature clef?

The tools I’ve found for hiding clefs per system (using an invisible clef or using the “hide” option in the lower zone) don’t seem to work on guitar tablature. Is there another way to do this?

Do you want to hide it for the whole piece? That is, TAB no clef at all?

If so, you can delete it by going to Library > Music Symbols.

No, I want to hide it on certain systems but not all systems.

I don’t think, if you choose to show both notation and tab, that you can hide one without hiding the other.

I’m fine with hiding both. The problem is I can’t get the tab clef to hide at all.

I tried all of the ways I could think of to selectively hide the TAB clef and failed to do so.

Obviously this is only possible in a layout that has more than just a single instrument…?

Why is that?

Because if you hide a staff in a layout with a single staff - there is nothing left!

@Janus He wants to hide the CLEF not the staff.

Oops!
What clef is there on a tab staff?

Nothing too fancy, it’s just TAB written vertically at the start of each system.

I too would like to hide the T A B clef in the preamble for systems other than the first: i.e. hide the two instances circled in red. Note that there are 2 cases here: tablature for guitar and tab+standard notation for the mandolin. Is seems that the “hide after first system” notation option is per flow only (and didn’t change anything in this case: bug?), which wouldn’t leave the standard notation clefs if it worked. Whether this is considered “correct notation” or not, I see many publications that hide the TAB clef as described. Also, does this need to be reposted as a feature request?

The existing option for clefs in Notation Options only applies to single-staff systems, so it isn’t intended to be operable for tab clefs.

You don’t need to repost this as a feature request. Simply by this issue being raised here on the forum, it’s on our radar. I can’t make a specific commitment as to when it might be addressed, however.

I use tab as a single-staff system.
