Hiding noteheads not hiding rhythm dots?

Hi all - i have a lead sheet in which I’d like to indicate the top note only of a chord voicing. I’ve added a second note on each stem and hidden the notehead (and the ledger line) in the properties panel. But the rhythm dot still shows up. Is there a way to hide this too?

Thanks!
Geoff

It looks like it is impossible to hide the dots, but you can achieve this result by entering eighth notes in another voice, hiding the rests, forcing the stems upwards, and merging the voice columns.
There could be a better solution though!

They can still be dotted 8:ths as long as they are in another voice.

Strangely not working anymore with unisons, or am I doing something wrong?

That must be a consequence of the amalgamation of the noteheads in Notation options>Voices>Overlapping notes

Actually the options are concerning dotted/undotted or half/shorter, but here we have dotted/dotted. And even if I set a different voice column for the 2nd voice, once there is an unison, the dots refuse to be hidden:
