Hello! Is there a way to simply hide the quarter note and just keep the eight note + tie to indicate syncopation?
My reference is this:
Hi @tuftychutoy, you can activate Show other voices for the slash region, then write your note and add a Laissez vibrer tie:
(You can change the notehead, with a right click, and also suppress the playback for the note, and remove unwanted rests, if necessary)

Thanks! It also seems it works to go to Hide stem and Hide notehead while in properties panel (Engrave mode).
