Hiding notes to show staves?

I need to show some empty stave in a system of a piece. I’ve inputted some notes to force those staves to show. I planned on just hiding those notes and inputting some some whole rests to make those measures look empty. But I don’t find a way to hide notes?

How might this best be done ?

Add a playing technique and hide it. You get a signpost which you can delete later if needed.
