Hiding notes while retaining attached lyrics

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere, but I couldn’t find a good answer.

I’m doing a bunch of lead sheets for a band. They don’t want melodies notated: only important rhythm section melodies, hits, etc. However, they are requesting lyrics shown, in their expected locations within each bar --so I’ve attached them to a voice of repeated, silent, 8ths. But now, how I do I hide this voice while retaining lyrics?

Lyrics are of course attached to noteheads, but Dorico doesn’t offer a simple “hide” function for noteheads or voices, at least not that I’m aware of.

In the graphic example, I want to hide the voice in orange, and leave only the bass line and lyrics remaining. Reducing opacity in the inspector only hides the noteheads, not the stems or beams.

Can anyone suggest a good workaround?

In Dorico Pro, at least, I believe you can use “Hide Stem” and “Hide Notehead” properties in Engrave mode, and the lyrics will remain?

I can confirm that.

Actually, once syllables have been assigned, the notes can be erased, so long as the lyrics themselves are not highlighted. If the measure rests bother anyone, they can all be dispatched via a Layout option.
