I have a piano cue in aVocal part and want to remove the rests around the cue but NOT in the Pno-Vocal part. When I turn on Hide rests around cue, nothing happens. When I select omit bar rests for the flow in Notations options nothing happens.
I would like to have this in the vocal part:
In the vocal part with Set local properties set to Locally, select the whole rest in the first full measure, set the Rest pos. property to zero and the Custom scale property to one. Then select the remaining rests before the soprano entrance and set the same two properties to the same values. Now the rests should be hidden in the vocal part but not in the piano-vocal layout.
If you split up a cue into several abutting Cue ‘objects’, you can set the properties for each of them separately (override the label with an empty string for all but the first one). I find that this technique usually solves problems of this kind.
