I’m engraving a piece for cello and piano where the cello part has several ossia passages. Some of them contain different notes (simplified parts) while other only different string allocations, making them useless for the pianist.
Is it somehow possible to selectively hide an ossia stave while leaving the others untouched? I have already tried the Staff Visibility dialogue. The ossia stave is recognised as “Violoncello (a)” and Dorico allows me to set its visibility to “Hide” but nothing really happens.
Perhaps using different instruments only for this would work but I do not want to complicate a project which is 95% completed.
Ciao @MicheleGalvagno, unfortunately I think there is not an official way to selectively hide a specific ossia in a layout.
Here a workaround, using text with white foreground and white background, positioned to cover the ossia (the text has avoid collision deactivated and is hidden in the part where you want to see the ossia). I like to use a bounce of X to see where the text is and what it will cover. Then you can disjoin the barlines for that specific staff, in engrave mode.
One disadvantage is that the staff spacing doesn’t know that the ossia is “hidden” and will be not recalculated.
