I want to hide the time signature on the bottom part and leave only the one above bur only for that specific system. I have condensing enabled so the bottom time signature is unnecessary big, after that system all the strings play so the time signature is properly aligned in the top of the instrument group.
As it stands, you don’t have a great deal of flexibility in where time signatures centred on brackets appear; this is something that we will make more configurable in future versions of the software.
Off the top of my head I’m not sure what kind of workaround you could apply here, but somebody more ingenious than me will no doubt be along shortly with a clever idea.
A hidden local time signature might work.
Created one in the violin 1 staff here with Shift-M, (3/4) and alt/opt-enter.
The rests look a little funky so you might have to do the same for the other strings here.
The Hide time signature property is a global property, so if a time signature is hidden in the score, it is also hidden in the part(s) which use that time signature.
My suggestion would be to use local time signatures in the string staves for that one system with their Color property in the score set to transparent. The Color property is a local property.
Thank you so much for this, however it doesn’t seem to be working for me, when I press alt-enter the time signature is created in a very small size and also changes the time signature above. Also I didn’t know about this local time signature option, how does that work?
When you alt-enter a time signature with the shift-M popover, the time signature affects only that staff, not every staff - very useful for polymeter, etc. That’s what we call a local time signature.
