I don’t want stems on either of the tablature staves. When I highlight multiple measures, things get highlighted that prevent the hiding of stems. Also, dots from dotted stems are ignored. How can I clear this?
Also, that triplet is fine in notation but too busy in the tab. If I erase it in tab, it erases it across staves. Thanks in advance!
Wouldn’t it be easier to turn off “Show rhythms in tablature” rather than trying to hide each stem individually?

Fretted Intruments → untick show rhythms in tablature for the specific layout.

with all due respect, I think replies like this one aren’t particularly helpful from a user’s perspective. What may seem intuitive or “easier” from the developers’ side is often not at all obvious to the average user.
In this specific case, the person asking might not even be aware that disabling “Show rhythms in tablature” is an option — and that’s precisely why they’re asking for help. So pointing them to the correct setting (and maybe explaining how to find it) would be far more constructive than implying they’re making things unnecessarily complicated.
Just some honest feedback: clarity and guidance go a lot further than passive-aggressive suggestions.

Fair enough, but the way it was phrased didn’t come across as a check, it came across as dismissive.
When users are confused or frustrated, they need clarity, not rhetorical questions. A simple “Have you tried turning off ‘Show rhythms in tablature’?", but including the full path to that option (since in Dorico these things are often buried in unintuitive places), would’ve done the job without sounding like a critique of their approach.
I’m saying this because, quite often as a user, the tone in these replies feels paternalistic rather than supportive. And that can really discourage users from asking questions, especially when they’re already struggling with something.
No worries here. Thank you for the help. The file was an import from Finale and for some reason included the stems in tablature. Turning them off in Layout was the perfect remedy. Thank you again.
