High CPU usage

Just installed Cubase 8 and opened an old project. CPU meter is full, sound is like gargling !

What should I do?

Hi and welcome,

Open Devices > Device Setup. Select VST Audio System on the left side. On the right side, make sure, any ASIO driver is selected. Then the ASIO driver name appears under the VST Audio System on the left side. Click on it, and on the right side, click Control Panel button. Here, increase your Buffer Size (latency), if it’s necessary.
