Hi everyone.
I created the line shown in the picture, but when I add it using “Attach to Barline” it doesn’t extend to the last barline. I don’t see a setting to adjust so I’m not sure why this is happening. I’m using Pro 5.
My guess is it’s a “rounding” error. That is, the next segment won’t fit into the remaining space, so it isn’t drawn.
Indeed, Dorico can’t draw partial wiggles, because those wiggles are made up font characters.
Thanks for this. Is there a way to get this type of line without using font characters? I tried alternating the default wavy line that changes from narrow to wide and wide to narrow, one per bar, but the ends don’t connect.
Daniel,
I had an idea for updating Bravura wiggles. What if I split a single wiggle into four or six smaller pieces? Each piece would be a glyph that forms a pattern. This way, we might extend the wiggles almost all the way to the bar line. Then, we might justify the wiggles connexion to the barline using custom scale values. What do you think? I can give it a shot if you let me.
No, we can’t simply split the wiggles in Bravura up into smaller pieces, as that would require six times as many characters assigned in SMuFL.
oh…I see.
