Hello, I have a rather strange problem. I’m working on a score by Richard Strauss. Normally, I can add horns, then choose whether I want a key signature with or without accidentals.
So I need horns in G, E, and F, but initially only a horn in F was added. Now I wanted to change the instruments, and the selection that’s usually there has disappeared. Is there a preset for this somewhere? What have I done wrong? Thank you very much for your help! Thomas
Strange – can you list out the steps you took to get to this stage, please?
Are you adding a fresh instrument to an existing player that’s already holding a horn, or adding a horn to a new player? Or are you changing an existing horn into a different instrument?
Does this issue repeat for you in a fresh project (ie an entirely new file) or just in this project? If only this project, please can you share it?

I’ve gotten myself out of a jam in this project by creating a new instrument group with horns. It happened after I copied music notes from a template; it’s only in this project. I can’t share this file publicly because it contains copyrighted material. I could send this file personally, then the team could try to figure out what’s causing it. As I said, not really a problem, putting together a new instrument group is easy, but the error seems to be so deep in the matrix that it might be worthwhile to really investigate it thoroughly.
