HornForHire - Longing For The Summer

Another cinematic piece, titled Longing For The Summer
It features my Spanish guitar and tenor saxophone.

Instruments:

  • Tenor Sax
  • Spanish guitar
  • Fretless bass
  • Keyscape (piano)
  • GPO (violins, violas, cellos)
  • Arturia Mini V2 (synth arpeggios)

Let me know what you think!

Cheers,
Wim

Nice track Wim. It definitely has a cinematic feel and sound. I was wondering what harmony lines between guitar and sax might sound like, even over a few bars? They may clash sonically, not sure. Hope you are well…“sounds” like it!

Hi Jet!
I’m doing fine, thanks! How are you?
Harmony might work, but I chose to keep it unisono on this piece, I think it works.

Thanks for listening,I hope to hear some new work from you soon!

Cheers, Wim

Really nice melody and chords. If I heard this piece recorded with an orchestra (plus the sax and acoustic guitar of course), I would believe it was a Mancini score for a 60s or early 70s movie. Nice!

Hi Eirik,

Thanks for listening and taking the time to comment.
I’m honored that you compare my work to Mancini, he was a great composer. :folded_hands:

Cheers,
Wim
