Hi.
I got A simple audio card with firewire that in its manual says the device can Hot plugd or unpluged without system reeboot.
i know that old firewire devices couldnt hot pluged or u can demage the device or firewire card.
i wander what about Mr816. is it safe to plug and unplug or turn on/off while computer is running ?
Hello,
Theoretically it is possible, but not advisible.
Cheers,
Chris
Further to this, I sometimes forget to turn on my MR816CSX first when booting up my system, then flip the MR816 “on” button to start the device after my PC & Cubase is running & Cubase tells me it doesn’t see the drivers. Is this a bad idea?

Nobody?
Yep, it can scramble your settings! I’ve had this with other soundcards (Focsurite safire pro 26), relaunching cubase works! The drivers weren’t available when cubase was started, a restart would see the drivers again.
