How can I add a click to a live recording?

I’ve got a live jazz client in that recorded her tracks at another studio without a click. Just wondering if there’s a way to add a click to the current recordings? Is there a beat detective of some sort that works well with changing tempos etc?

Depending on the software you are using, there are different possibilities.

Cubase 8.5 64bit

If you’re using Cubase Pro you can use Project → Tempo Detection.

If you upgrade to 9.5, you can use the new metronome features to easily render an audio or MIDI click track to your project, with the ability to use custom sounds and patterns:

Is v9.5 really that much of an improvement to 8.5?

It was a huge improvement to me. I think mixer undo and the greatly improved automation handling in particular are specially important for someone who works at a studio.
