How Can I Change the Bit Depth of Stems in SpectraLayers When Using ARA in Cubase?

Hello Everyone,

I’ve been using SpectraLayers for stem separation directly within Cubase through the ARA extension, and I kinda like it alot and does the job pretty well so far. I’m able to extract the stems from a track without any issues, but there’s one thing that’s bothering me. The stems are always created with a 32-bit float bit depth by default.

I would prefer to have the stems generated at a different bit depth instead of the default 32-bit float. Is there a way to adjust this setting in SpectraLayers or Cubase when using the ARA extension?

Thanks alot ;))

32-bit float is the default internal format for processing within Cubase when you use SL via ARA. You can just render from Cubase into any format you want.

Got it. So basically, you’re saying the bit depth can’t be changed during processing with SpectraLayers via ARA in Cubase, meaning the stems will always be processed as 32-bit float, right? (I’m referring to before export from Cubase, where you can then change the bit depth to whatever you need).
