How can I create additional space for title and subtitle information?

Hello - I’m using Dorico 5 SE. I would like to add a subtitle to my first page, but when I do the text gets cut off. Is there a way to expand the space for a title specifically? If I try to change the music frame top margin, it only adds space between the composer and the music, not between the title and the composer.

(I didn’t see a specific paragraph style for “Subtitle”, so I use “Flow”)

Hi @aubreyp and welcome to the Forum!

In Dorico SE you cannot change the hight of the Title Text frame. You can try to adjust:

  1. the dimensions of title and subtitle (double-click, and select and edit the tokens Font sizes separately for Title and Subtitle)

  2. and 3. reduce the Leading (distance between the tho paragraphs between Title and Subtitle)

result:

Another way would be to ask to some friend that has Dorico Pro and let them edit the First Page Template for you.

I made your changes to the Page Template so you don’t have an override. I added a Subtitle paragraph style as well.

Good suggestion, thank you! I was trying to use the existing styles as-is, but it sounds like if I get really picky about it I can upgrade.
