How can I delete some bars?

Hello guys, what’s up ?

I’m new on Dorico and I wanted to know how I can to get rid of only the empty bars 1 to 8 ? I just ant these bars deleted and not the following bars.

I suppose you mean hide rather than delete :wink:.

There are two ways:

  1. If there are no further empty staves in a system go to Layout Options > Vertical Spacing > Staff Visibility and set Hide Empty Staves to All systems .
  2. Otherwise – in Page View – select something in the second system, then right-click and select Staff > Manual Staff Visibility in the context menu. In the dialog set the first piano staff to Show Reset1 . Then do the same for the first system and set the first piano staff to Hide

Respectfully, I think it’s better practice to set this one to Reset rather than Show – that is, return to the default settings for the layout, rather than forcing the staff to show.
