How can I make my midi output my laptop speakers

I am going away with my band at some point and while we are there we want to write another album but we just want to use virtual instruments instead of an MIDI keyboard.

Any ideas? p.s. this is cubase 14 elements

Assuming you’re on a windows laptop, ASIO4all driver will work with your on board audio.

Do you own an audio interface? How do you normally hear what is recorded in Cubase?

Install ASIO4all
Select it as Cubase Audio system

Use this for Guitar and Singing ( sometimes )

So do you want audio to come out your laptop speakers or do you want to use the Scarlett?

In that case, I think ASIO4All is your best bet. Cubase does come with a generic ASIO driver (not sure if Element does) but the general consensus seems to be that ASIO4All gives you better performance.
